Elmira Branch

Meeting Room

Designed for Adults (18+).

This session is a great starting point for family historians looking to trace their Scottish roots. You'll learn how to use civil registrations, census records, parish and church records, and poor law and relief records to find your ancestors.

We'll explore why people emigrated, and show you where to find historical maps and old newspapers. Plus, we'll dive into wills, testaments, and military records to give you a better understanding of your ancestors' lives. By the end, you'll have the skills and tools you'll need to uncover and document your Scottish family history.
