Designed for ages 6-12, with a caregiver.
Join us for A Grand Fabrication: Truth, Tales and Art of a Heritage River by Jax Rula!
As a Canadian Heritage River, the Grand is a mosaic of First Nations and European cultures which have come together to shape the region’s character. The river provides the common thread that links a harmonious blend of natural and cultural landscapes.
Just as the Grand River is fed by its many different small rivers, creeks and tributaries, its story is fed by many different environments, experiences and people. The Grand Fabrication tells part of this story. Learn about Southern Ontario’s largest watershed in an entertaining and engaging way with Jax Rula and her 10 dolls that personify the region historically as well as geographically and hear the stories that accompany them.
Jax Rula is the Artistic Director of the TriSisters Art House and Three Sisters Cultural Centre. A fibre artist in her own right, Jax was awarded a grant from the Region of Waterloo Art's Fund to create this series of Art Dolls that personify life along Southern Ontario’s largest watershed.
Please register each child that will be attending this program. Parents and caregivers do not need to register, but are expected to stay for the program.
