Bloomingdale Branch - Program Space
Bloomingdale Branch
Program SpaceDesigned for all ages.
This developmental drumming workshop focuses on drumming and the energy it creates. It is fun, dynamic, creative and exciting!
When children participate in group drumming, they are also able to sharpen skills such as attention, impulse control, decision-making, turn-taking and sharing. It helps them feel they are part of a group contributing towards a group process. Playing a drum or percussion instrument can also be a useful way to communicate nonverbally and to “listen” to another person’s nonverbal communication. This may almost seem self-evident, but different playing techniques can be used to help work on different fine and gross motor skills. Participating in a drumming activity can help a child feel safe enough to express his/her feelings.
Participants are encouraged to bring personal drums and percussion instruments if they have any.
Please register yourself as the main contact and add any additional attendees (including all children and any other adults who will be accompanying you) as guests.
