Although Paul Gains has photographed incredible wildlife around the world - polar bears in Svalbard, jaguars in the Brazilian Pantanal and pumas in Patagonia - snowy owls remain his favourite species. That’s largely because he has spent 12 years observing and photographing migrating ‘snowies’ in the fields near Elmira, Ontario. Over that period he has remained in touch with leading researchers to better understand the behaviour of this arctic visitor. In this presentation he will share dozens of images he has taken and tell the stories of individual owls he has encountered.
