Learn the first steps in researching your family history including where to begin, how to gather family stories, determining what records are needed, and how to record the information you find.

This workshop will include a demonstration of Ancestry Library Edition which provides access to billions of records and is available free of charge through the Region of Waterloo libraries without a subscription!

Session facilitator, Susan Arness is a professional genealogist who lives in Uptown Waterloo. She holds three advanced level certificates in genealogy: Canadian Studies, Methodology, and DNA Analysis. Susan is an active member of the Wellington Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
