Discuss the various types of records which can provide insight into our ancestors’ lives such as civil registration, vital records, census data and beyond.
Documents including civil registration and vital records, census data, parish and cemetery records, wills and probate, land and property records, maps and atlases, military records, immigration and naturalization records will be discussed. Reference will be made to records from Canada, Ireland, and England.
Session facilitator, Susan Arness is a professional genealogist who lives in Uptown Waterloo. She holds three advanced level certificates in genealogy: Canadian Studies, Methodology, and DNA Analysis. Susan is an active member of the Wellington Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
